Commissioned by Adobe as part of the Creative Apprenticeship, these posters were designed for the Adobe NEXT// events in NYC and LA. The brief called for a raw, expressive wheat-paste installation inspired by street art and creative rebellion.
Treating bold sans-serif type as the primary element, I chose a heavy, condensed block typeface because the letters look cut out and constructed rather than drawn, mirroring the message of carving out your own space when it isn't offered. By scaling up stressed syllables to mimic phonetic speech, the hierarchy becomes loud and immediate, strategically overpowering a visible modular grid.
This chaotic energy balances with Swiss-inspired editorial minimalism. Built on contemporary publication aesthetics, the final asymmetric layouts use high contrast and location-specific colour palettes to reflect the distinct energy of each host city.
